Our Selenite pieces are carved from natural Moroccan Satin Spar, a beautiful translucent form of gypsum commonly sold as Selenite because of its luminous appearance and cleansing reputation.

Technically, Selenite and Satin Spar are different forms of gypsum. They develop with different crystal structures, which gives them their distinct appearance, but they are often used in similar ways and are traditionally associated with the same supportive properties. The luminous white material most people recognize in Selenite bowls, charging plates, towers, and home décor is usually Satin Spar, although it is commonly sold as Selenite throughout the crystal industry.
