What Makes Natural Moldavite Special?

Moldavite is a rare, naturally occurring green tektite formed when an ancient meteorite impact generated extreme heat and propelled molten terrestrial material into the atmosphere. The resulting natural glass cooled and was deposited across parts of Central Europe.

Associated with the Ries impact crater in present-day Germany, Moldavite is approximately 14.7 million years old. Its distinctive green color, natural sculpting, and remarkable geological origin have made it especially desirable among crystal enthusiasts and collectors.
